    I imagine the same scene, a parishoner calling the pastor, explaining he has cancer and a week to live, and asking "so what were those 4 steps to a victorious happy life?"

    The cartoon neglects the fact that doctrine comforts in hard time. I think it is something lesser than "awesome," more like symptomatic of the shallowness of American Christianity that either sees doctrines such as millenialism as most important or all doctrines as equally unimportant. Both views are to be pitied.
