Ur Video: C.J. Mahaney on Humility

This video featuring C.J. Mahaney and James MacDonald was produced by The Gospel Coalition last summer. Given the current accusations against Mahaney and the mess unfolding at Sovereign Grace Ministries, the comments in this video take on new meaning.

One of the things I've learned is that sometimes a person can be as humble as a king with an army at his back...ask Henry IV when he approached Gregory VII at Cannosa.
Sure, Henry was excommunicated and really needed the whole excommunication thingy lifted to bring his rebellious Saxon nobles in line, but it comes down to how much freedom of choice did Gregory have when at Henry's back was a Lombardian army of nobles who had an itch for Gregory's head on a pike.
Sometimes, humility just doesn't look like humility but rather the just another decoration in a throne room.
