Nice concept, but what we need to ask, is "What does it mean to be an ADULT child of God?"
I can't identify at all with "cuddling with God," which is what a toddler might do with a father. An adult child's relationship with the Father is quite different.
I sure hope Francis leaves the "cute" behind and gets to adult relationships in prayer.

Mat 18:2-4 "And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
and said, "Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

Francis Chan makes a great point of our prayer life. He illustrates that we are the Children of God and we should approach God as our Father when we come to prayer. When we look at the culture back then the Father was the provider and supplier for the family. He was the one who would meet the immediate needs for the family working a great deal of the day. This continued up to the 1900's where it started to shift to a two income family. However, when we look back we see the Father being the one who provides. We need to understand that concept when we think of God as our Father. We need to understand that He is the supplier of all good things. James 1 talks about Every Good and Perfect Gift is from God above. We can understand that God is the provider. When we make that concept clear, we then can understand that in order for us to survive we need to rely on Him. In our finitude we rely on Him for everything. Then we see that our God is Love, 1st John explains that.
Francis Chan makes a terrific point when he talks about drawing conlusions in regards to our previous encounters with our earthly Fathers. Again in our finitude no Earthly Father is ever going to come anywhere close to that of our Heavenly Father. We need to realize that so we can truly understand that Our Heavenly Father is Perfect where as our Earthly Father is still living under the curse. Another thing, Augustine captured well "If you can understand it, its not from God" God is infinite and we can never wrap our head around His glory and Magnificience.
Francis Chan makes an awesome point when it comes to understanding God as Our Father and we are His children. We are to approach Him understanding that He is a God who loves us so deeply. We need to depend on Him for everything realizing that each blessing is from Him.
Thanks so much!

That was excellent video illustrating Francis's point. His son is delightful and Francis has a genuine ease with his boy. Loved it!
